TEMPORARY EMAIL EXPLAINED

What is temporary email, and when should you use it?

A temporary email address lets you receive messages for a limited time without handing out your everyday address. It helps reduce unnecessary sign-up mail, but it is not a substitute for a secure primary mailbox.

How a temporary inbox works

Think of your normal email address as your long-term mailbox: you use it to recover accounts, speak with people you trust and receive information you may need years from now. A temporary inbox is different. It creates a short-lived address, accepts incoming messages while the timer is running and eventually expires.

On SpeedMail.world, a random @speedmail.world address appears automatically when the home page opens and the service is available. You can copy that address, paste it into a site or share it with a sender, and read incoming text messages in the browser. The inbox checks for new mail approximately every 15 seconds. You can also press Refresh.

Using SpeedMail step by step

  1. Open the SpeedMail homepage and wait for the address to appear. You do not need to register.
  2. Copy the address and use it only where temporary email is permitted and appropriate.
  3. Return to the page to check your inbox. You can read the sender, subject and plain-text content of received messages.
  4. If more time is needed, choose 5, 30 or 60 minutes and select Extend time before the mailbox expires. The same address stays active, subject to a three-hour maximum total lifetime.
  5. When finished, let the inbox expire or use New address. Be aware that replacing an inbox deletes its existing messages.

Common legitimate uses

Short-lived addresses are useful for quick, low-stakes trials of online utilities, receiving a confirmation from a service that explicitly allows disposable email, testing your own app's email delivery, or reading material that does not require a recoverable long-term account. Using a different address for different low-risk activities can reduce the amount of marketing mail arriving at your primary inbox.

Check a service's terms first. Some websites intentionally reject temporary domains, and you should not attempt to bypass their restrictions or other safety controls.

What temporary email does not protect

A temporary address does not make you anonymous to every website. The website you visit may still see information such as your network address, browser or login activity. Email itself is not end-to-end encrypted simply because the inbox is temporary. Senders, mail infrastructure and other parties may process messages while they are delivered.

SpeedMail displays received messages as plain text. It does not provide outgoing email, store attachments for download, render remote HTML content, or guarantee delivery from every sender. It currently limits message size and the number of emails kept per inbox. For a full explanation of what is stored, see the Privacy Notice.

When you should use a permanent address instead

Use a trusted long-term email account for banking, payments, medical information, government services, employment, school records, account recovery, password resets, purchases and anything you cannot afford to lose. A temporary inbox expires; you cannot depend on being able to retrieve an old message or recover the address afterward.

Simple rule: If you will need that account or message next month, don't use an inbox that may disappear in an hour.

How long does a SpeedMail address last?

New addresses start with a 60-minute lifespan. While the same inbox is still active, you may extend it to 5, 30 or 60 minutes of remaining time where that increases its current countdown. Extensions never shorten time already remaining. An address cannot remain active for more than three hours from its original creation. After expiration, access stops and older data is removed by scheduled cleanup.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send an email from SpeedMail?

No. SpeedMail is an incoming-only service.

Can I use the same address from another browser?

Access is associated with the session in your browser. Copying an address is not the same as transferring inbox access.

Can a sender see my real email?

Giving someone a temporary address does not directly reveal your permanent address. However, other details you share with that person or service might identify you.

Is it safe to store private documents?

No. Do not use temporary mail for confidential documents or information you need to retain.
